Class Demo - Brushstrokes, Neutrals and Color Harmony

7 1/4"w x 6 3/8"h | oil on canvas

This is a very quick experimental class demo on the subject of brushstrokes, and neutral colors. I'm starting from a chromatic gray, that I mixed from red, yellow and blue, and am adding saturated color to the gray. A kind of backwards approach from where we normally start with mixing paint on a palette. It gives a very harmonious look to the painting! I will be doing more of this! I read about this approach on Terry Miura's blog. He calls it, starting from "the center of the pie". This painting is only on a piece of canvas, no support or board under it. Because of this, the starting price is $50.
